Hello,
I am Jackie Sims...here is all my family information I have.
> My great-grandfather's name was Julius Francis Deitz. He was born between 1867 and 1870. He came to the US in 1890. He said that he came to America because he deserted the Austrian National Army. My grandmother who is 92, remembers her father Julius Deitz speaking Polish. We believe that he also spoke German. We think because of this that he might have been born in Galicia but we are not sure. The US census reports vary. Some of the census reports say that he came to the US from Austria and some say Poland. The only clue that we have is in his marriage certificate. I have attached a copy for you. The marriage certificate says that his place of birth was Tressuk Austria. I have been unable to locate Tressuk on a map. Julius also said that he changed his name when he came to the US. We think that it may have been Dietrich or Deitrich or another version of Deitz or Dietz. He was of the Catholic religion. He lived in New York and then was married in West Virginia. He then moved to Nokomis, Illinois. He died in 1951 in Springfield, Illinois. I am sending a picture of him in an attachment.

> We know that he had either a brother or a sister because he spoke often of his niece Aneilia Krasulak. Some of the US census reports said her name was Cecilia Krasulak. My great-grandfather called her Angela. Anelia was born in 1881 in Austria. She married a man named Albert Krasulak and they had 2 sons. Albert was born in 1863 in Austria or Poland and he died in 1917 in Livingston, Illinois. Albert and Anelia Krasulak came to the US in 1907. Their sons names were Frances and Carl Krasulak. Carl was born in 1908 and Frances in 1910. Frances died in 1966 and Carl was killed during WWII on June 15, 1944 on the shores of Normandy and is burried in Normandy France. Anelia Krasualk moved to Gary, Indiana but I never found any information for her after she moved to Indiana. My grandmother remembers visiting the Krasulak's in Gary, Indiana in the eary 1930's.

> We think that if we find where the Krasulak family came from, we will be able to find where her father came from. My grandmother is the last living of all of her brothers and sisters. She is 92 and in good health. We have searched to find the place where the Krasulak and the Deitz families came from.

> I thank you for your help. I would love to bring my grandmother to the place where her family came from but so far we have been unable to find where our family is from. We are hoping to find that we have relatives in Poland or Austria!!! Since she is 92, I feel pressed for time.
